A Blog Application for the School District of Manatee County
In keeping with our district's mission, strategic plan and strategic objectives, we are providing the opportunity for departments, teachers, and students to participate in educational blogging.

Blogging is a 21st Century communication tool that has become popular with all ages. It fosters understanding, different points of view, questioning, voice, and reflection. This tool will be utilized to implement blogging across the district enhancing communication, teaching, and learning.

Created in 2005, Blogging on the EDGE was developed collaboratively between the Instructional Technology Department, a group of pilot teachers, and consultant Derek Thompson, who began this project as a college intern and is now a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
